Are you a seasoned baseball enthusiast with a passion for leadership? The Northwest Indiana Oilmen Baseball Club is actively seeking an experienced Field Manager to lead our team to victory. As the Field Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of baseball in Northwest Indiana.
About Us:
The Northwest Indiana Oilmen are an independent minor league baseball club based out of Whiting, Indiana’s Oil City Stadium. Members of the Northern League, we pride ourselves in recruiting and developing players from the next level of competition. Over 30 former players have gone to play affiliated baseball for MLB since 2012. The club is a winning organization with 324 total wins against 198 losses for a .621 winning percentage.
Our goal is to be the marquee summer sports entertainment choice in Northwest Indiana by providing fans with a quality product, superb customer service, and an affordable, fun experience every time.
Since our founding in 2012, we’ve been proud members of the Northern League, one of the oldest organized baseball leagues in the United States.
Our home, Oil City Stadium, has witnessed four championships since its inception.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the team during games, practices, and pre game training sessions.
Develop and implement game strategies, including lineup decisions, pitching rotations, and defensive alignments.
Foster a positive team culture, emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
Collaborate with coaching staff, players, and front-office personnel to achieve success on and off the field.
Coordinate and teach our community kids efforts with our Free Kids Camps during the season.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a baseball coach or manager at the collegiate, minor league, or professional level. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire players.
In-depth knowledge of baseball rules, strategies, and player development. Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
