04/06/2012 1:03 PM - The Northwest Indiana Oilmen have recently added third basemen Hunter Pruitt to their 2012 roster. Pruitt will be playing ball at Robert Morris University in Chicago this spring after spending the past two years at Black Hawk College in Moline, IL. In 2011 Pruitt displayed to all how good he can be on the baseball field. In 45 games in his sophomore season, Pruitt hit .347 with one homerun, 24 RBIs, 42 runs scored, 10 doubles, and a perfect seven-for-seven in steals. He also showed that he can be patient at the plate by drawing 19 walks that helped him earn .445 on-base percentage. Before attending Black Hawk College, Pruitt attended Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois. At Neuqua Valley he was a huge contributor in helping the Wildcats go 35-8 and 33-7 in his last two seasons there with a third-place finish in the State Championships in his senior season. Pruitt is just another one of the many talented players coming to Whiting this summer and Oilmen fans certainly hope these players can do something special in their inaugural season in the Midwest Collegiate League.
