Oilmen Fall To Vikings
The Oilmen continued their road trip on Saturday night against the Southland Vikings, but ended up falling by a score of 4-2 in Flossmoor.

NWI was paced by RBIs by Leiff Clarkson and Gerrad Rohan, but the Vikings jumped on top early with two unearned runs against Oilmen starter Brett Schneider (1-3), and added to their total with a two-run home run by Jeff Boehm in the sixth.

The Oilmen bats were held in check for the most part, although Clarkson, with two hits in four at-bats, was the only player for either team with more than one hit in the game.

Sweet Relief
The Oilmen bullpen was again a bright spot, as Mike Hanchar, Joe Cochran and Scott Jerge combined to throw three scoreless innings on Saturday. The relief corps for NWI has not surrendered a run in its last nine and one-third innings of work.

All-Stars A-Plenty
NWI had 10 players selected to play in Tuesday’s 2013 MCL All-Star Game at Oil City Stadium. Jimmy McNamara, Michael Steensen, Danny and Matt Pobereyko, Aveeno Nasiloski, Ty Hogan, Gerrad Rohan, Jack Czeszewski, Leiff Clarkson and Nick Bartolone will all play, while Justin Huisman will manage the North squad. The game will be called by Oilmen broadcasters Jason Guerette and Jonas Nordman on nwioilmen.com and AM 1230 WJOB as well.
