McNamara Leads Way As Oilmen Down Snipes
Jimmy McNamara (4-0) was brilliant yet again, tossing eight innings against the Lexington Snipes last night at Oil City Stadium, with the offense backing him up in a 5-2 NWI win.

The southpaw ace of the staff gave up just one earned run and seven hits, walking none and striking out six, setting things up for Matt Pobereyko in the ninth to nail down his MCL-leading fifth save.

Offensively, Leiff Clarkson, Gerrad Rohan and Chris Marras had two-hit days for NWI, while Kenny Mahala slugged his first homer of the year to open the scoring in the second against Lexington starter Josh Tonozzi (1-3). Clarkson and Marras both added doubles as every starter but one got into the hit column. NWI moved into second place with the win.

Run Bartoloned In
Nick Bartolone added yet another RBI to his league-leading total on Monday with a single in the fifth inning, making 34 on the year. His 33rd RBI on Sunday set a new MCL record for RBI in a single season, surpassing Chris Hipchen, who drove in 32 for the Illinois Lincolns last season. In addition, he has set a new Oilmen franchise record, breaking Billy Miller’s mark of 31 RBI, which was also set last summer. Congratulations Nick!

J-Mac Attack
Last night was the second time that Jimmy McNamara faced the Lexington Snipes. Coincidentally, his first outing against them also came at Oil City Stadium opposing Josh Tonozzi. He also pitched eight innings to get the win in that contest, on June 20, in a game that the Oilmen won by three (3-0).
