Rain Causes Postponement of Wednesdays Game at Southland06/11/2014 2:27 PM - Whiting, Ind. – June 11, 2014 – Wednesday’s game between the Northwest Indiana Oilmen and Southland Vikings at Homewood-Flossmoor High School has been postponed by rain and poor field conditions. The game has been rescheduled for Monday, June 30 at 7:10 at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. Four of the first 12 scheduled Oilmen games this season have been postponed by rain, including three games against the Southland Vikings. The Oilmen and Vikings will also play rescheduled games at Oil City Stadium on Monday, June 23 and Monday, July 14. The Oilmen will open up a four-game homestand on Thursday against the Vikings at 7:10 p.m. Thursday’s game is Strike Out ALS Night as the Oilmen raise money for the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease. It is also Thirsty Thursday with $1 Miller Lite beers, pop and water as well as $2 Bulldog Brews available at the concession stand. Friday’s game is Zombie Apocalypse Night, Saturday is Superhero Night and Sunday’s 4:10 game is Father’s Day at the ballpark as all dads can play catch with the children on the field after the game.
