Oilmen Host First Chamber of Commerce NightOilmen Host First Chamber of Commerce Night at Oil City Stadium Whiting, Indiana – June 13,2012 - On Thursday, June 14th Oil City Stadium will play host to the first Whiting Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce Night as the first place Northwest Indiana Oilmen take on defending MCL champions, the Will County Crackerjacks. Gates open at 5:30 pm with the first pitch at 7:10 pm. The Whiting Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce is responsible for many events in the town of Whiting and Robertsdale, including the Pierogi Festival, Bunch-O-Bunnies, Garage Mahal, Oktoberfest, and Here Comes Santa Photos. The Chamber is also responsible for producing the Write Stuff and the Whiting-Robertsdale Directory. “We are extremely excited to partner with the Northwest Indiana Oilmen baseball team this season,” said Sarah Hildebranski, executive director of the Whiting Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce. “We want our members and local residents to know of the many community events that contribute to the success and growth of our businesses and that partnering with the Oilmen will allow us to promote our existing members while attracting new ones.” Every Thursday game at Oilmen Stadium is “Thirsty Thursday” with half off drink specials. The Northwest Indiana Oilmen, one of eight teams in the 3-year-old Midwest Collegiate League, launched their inaugural season on June 2, 2012.
