Whiting, Indiana – June 21, 2012 – The Northwest Indiana Oilmen continued their hot streak, winning their sixth straight game and maintaining a four game lead in the MCL South Division. The Oilmen (14-3) pounded the Illinois Lincolns (8-8) 10-3 on Thursday thanks to a five-run eighth inning. Brandon Krieg contributed to the Oilmen offense with two singles while reaching base four times. Southpaw Joshua Negele picked up the win for the Northwest Indiana. Negele pitched seven innings, allowing one earned run, three hits and two walks, while striking out four.
Mike Hamilton couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Illinois Lincolns, taking the loss. Hamilton lasted seven innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
The Oilmen return home Friday night to take on the Southland Vikings who look to end their three game slide. Every Friday night game at Oil City Stadium is family night, where kids under 12 get in free.
