Northwest Indiana Oilmen Lose Third Straight06/25/2012 11:43 AM - Northwest Indiana Oilmen Lose Third Straight The Northwest Indiana Oilmen (14-6) dropped their third straight game Sunday night against the Illinois Lincolns (10-8). The Oilmen’s MCL South Division lead is now down to only one game. After falling behind by five runs in the third inning, the Oilmen couldn’t overcome the deficit, losing 6-4 to the Illinois Lincolns. Contributing to the loss were five Oilmen errors. The Oilmen scored on a two-run double by Chris Rudenga in the fifth inning, and on a wild pitch and a ground out by Hunter Pruitt in the sixth. Ryan Wilkinson (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher, allowing six runs in five innings, walking two and striking out two. The Lincolns’ Tomas Michelson got the win, running his season record to 1-1. Michelson allowed four runs over six innings, struck out eight, walked two, and surrendered seven hits.
The Oilmen have two days off to recover and get ready for the June 27th match up at Oil City Stadium against the second place Will County Crackerjacks, who trail NWI by one game.
