Whiting, Ind. – December 15, 2015 – The Northwest Indiana Oilmen are seeking summer interns for the 2016 baseball season. An internship with the Oilmen provides quality hands-on experience for individuals looking to advance a career in sports. The Oilmen are seeking individuals interested in graphic design, photography, marketing, ticket sales, stadium operations, community relations, broadcasting, sports information and gameday entertainment. The Northwest Indiana Oilmen are entering their fifth season as the Region’s premiere college summer ball team. Located in Whiting, Indiana, the Oilmen compete in the Midwest Collegiate League, which has aided the development of 26 players that have gone on to be selected in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft and numerous others who have found professional success in the league’s six-year history. The league has become a breeding ground for not only college athletes looking to further their baseball careers, but also for college students looking to advance themselves in the sports industry. Through their first four seasons, the Oilmen have developed a reputation for bringing in quality interns and helping them in their career development. The Oilmen are seeking motivated students willing to dedicate themselves to the club’s operation to uphold the tradition of on and off the field success that the organization has created. Interns will be expected to work office hours in addition to attending all home games. The start date is flexible based on students’ college schedules, but all interns will be expected to begin in mid-May or immediately following the conclusion of their spring semester. The internship runs through the conclusion of the Midwest Collegiate League playoffs in August. Creativity, ingenuity and organization are traits that have made Oilmen interns thrive in years past. Candidates can apply for a specific internship position or apply as a general intern to gain experience in all facets of the operation. Prior applicable experience is preferred, but not required to apply. A full list of available Oilmen internships, along with a description of each, is available at http://nwioilmen.com/community/internship_program/.
