Pitching Matchup
NWI’s Sam Geraci (Parkland / Illinois Springfield / Steger, Ill.) vs. Joliet’s Tom Cheshareck (Illinois State / Morris, Ill.)

For Starters
The Oilmen are attempting to bounce back from back-to-back one-run losses. The Oilmen committed six errors in Saturday’s 10-9 defeat to the Vikings, matching the most miscues ever committed by the team in a single game. It was the first time the Oilmen made six errors since June 27, 2012, a 14-13 loss to the Will County CrackerJacks. They also made six errors on June 1, 2012, the first game in team history at DuPage County. Saturday marked the most runs the Oilmen have scored in a loss since June 21, 2015, a 13-12 defeat at Michigan City. The last time the Oilmen scored nine runs or more and lost in a game at Oil City Stadium was June 30, 2013, a 13-12 loss to DuPage County that took 15 innings to complete.

Inside the Oilmen
Josh Fewell snapped an 0-for-14 slump with a bloop two-run single in the fifth inning on Saturday, and then followed by yanking a ground ball single into right field. The three players with the lowest batting averages in Saturday’s lineup – Fewell, Jordan Flint and Alex Nisle – all had multi-hit games. Nisle and Flint both had their first multi-hit performance of the year. Chase Dawson reached base three times with two walks and a hit by pitch, but his four-game hitting streak was snapped. Tyler Sroczynski extended his hitting streak to five games, but ended a stretch of four consecutive multi-hit performances. The team’s longest hitting streak belongs to Chase Fieldhouse, who reached base five times in his most recent game on Thursday. Fieldhouse has hit safely in eight straight after going 0-for-2 in the season opener at Bloomington on May 27. Sam Geraci makes his second start with the Oilmen on Sunday afternoon. His first was suspended by rain in the fifth inning after he allow one earned run on two hits in four innings while striking out four.

Inside the Admirals
The Admirals are coming off a 5-4 win over the Hounds on Saturday. Joe Davi came through with critical relief work, holding the Hounds scoreless over the final three innings to nail down the save and preserve the one-run lead. The Oilmen will get another look at Tom Cheshareck, who started vs. NWI on May 29 and was hit with the loss after allowing three runs on two hits and four walks in two innings. He has a 1-1 record and 6.75 ERA.

About the Matchup
The Admirals visit Oil City Stadium for the first time this season. This will mark the fourth game between the two teams this year, with the Oilmen winning two of the first three. The Oilmen have scored at least seven runs in all three games against the Admirals, most recently in a 13-3 win on Sunday. Oilmen lead the all-time series 23-6.

MLB Draft News
Two former Oilmen were selected in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Saturday, becoming the first two former players in franchise history to be drafted. Indiana University outfielder Craig Dedelow, a Munster graduate, was picked by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 34th round, while Calumet College pitcher Enrique Zamora was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 37th round.
