The Northwest Indiana Oilmen ended their 2012 inaugural season with a loss, falling to the Southland Vikings, 5-3 at Homewood High School.  The Oilmen own a 7-5 record against the Vikings this season.

Cinoman also looked sharp in his one inning of work from the mound, allowed no earned runs, walking one and striking out two. Tait Rauen (1-3) took the loss for the Oilmen. Rauen lasted five innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

Southland Vikings' Elliott Armstrong went 3-4 and scored two runs. Armstrong singled in the first, third, and fifth innings. Noah Anderson improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Vikings. Anderson struck out none, walked one and gave up one hit.

After a successful inaugural campaign, going 28-16, the Oilmen look to take their winning ways into the MCL playoffs. The Oilmen will open the post-season at home on July 31st in a best-of-three first round series.
