Yelnick named MCL Pitcher of the Week06/20/2016 12:33 PM - The Midwest Collegiate League has announced its Players of the Week for the fourth week of the season. The MCL Hitter of the Week is Dane Toppel. Toppel (Eastern Illinois / South Elgin, Ill.) hit a .631 for the DuPage County Hounds this week. He drove in a pair of runs and scored six of his own while finding a variety of ways to get on base. Toppel walked six times and was hit by a pitch four times to go with his 12 hits, bringing his on-base percentage up to .529. The MCL Pitcher of the Week is the Northwest Indiana Oilmen’s Richard Yelnick. Yelnick (Trinity Christian / New Lenox, Ill.) pitched six scoreless innings to help Northwest Indiana secure a win over the first place Bloomington Bobcats Thursday. He gave up only three hits and struck out eight in a 17-1 win for the Oilmen.
