Oilmen Top DeKalb County in Game One of MCL Championship Series08/04/2012 7:35 AM - Oilmen Top DeKalb County in Game One of MCL Championship SeriesThe Northwest Indiana Oilmen used a seven run explosion in the ninth inning to defeat the DeKalb County Liners, 12-6 on Friday at Founders Field. The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to six lead changes in the game. Bennett Oliver had two RBIs on two hits for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen. Oliver homered in the first inning and singled in the ninth. Nik Mason held the Liners hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one. Brent Mueller took the loss for the DeKalb County Liners. Mueller allowed seven runs in one-third of an inning, walked two and struck out none. With the win in the championship series opener, the Oilmen can take the 2012 MCL championship with a victory in game two on Saturday at Oil City Stadium.
