Whiting, Ind. – January 31, 2017 – The Northwest Indiana Oilmen are seeking summer interns for the 2017 baseball season.

Since the team’s founding in 2012, the Oilmen have consistently given internship opportunities to students looking to broaden their professional experience and help jump-start a career in sports.

The Oilmen are seeking individuals interested in graphic design, photography, marketing, ticket sales, stadium operations, community relations, broadcasting, sports information and gameday entertainment.

The Northwest Indiana Oilmen are entering their sixth season as a staple of the Midwest Collegiate League. The Oilmen are the reigning league champions and have won two MCL titles in the team’s five-year history. The league has become a breeding ground for not only college athletes looking to further their baseball careers, but also for college students looking to advance themselves in the sports industry. Through their first five seasons, the Oilmen have developed a reputation for bringing in quality interns and helping them in their career development.

The Oilmen are looking for dedicated workers with a passion for sports and the hard-working mindset needed to contribute to the intern team and the Oilmen throughout the course of the team’s three month season. Interns are expected to work at the team office in Whiting, IN and attend all Oilmen home games. In the case of the broadcasting internship, the selected candidate will also travel to road games for broadcasts. The internships run from mid-May (flexible to a student’s school schedule) through the MCL playoffs in August.

Candidates can apply for a specific internship position or apply as a general intern to gain experience in all facets of the operation. Prior applicable experience is preferred, but not required to apply.

An explanation of the responsibilities of each position has been added as an attachment in this email. A full list of available Oilmen internships, along with a description of each, is also available at http://nwioilmen.com/community/internship_program/.

Interested candidates should send a resume, samples of work and a cover letter to [email protected].
