Oilmen Seeking Summer Interns for 2018 Season10/20/2017 4:54 PM - Whiting, Ind. – Oct. 20, 2017 – The Northwest Indiana Oilmen are seeking summer interns for the 2018 baseball season. An internship with the Oilmen provides quality hands-on experience for individuals looking to advance a career in sports. The Oilmen are seeking individuals interested in graphic design, photography, gameday operation, accounting, social media, community relations, broadcasting/media relations, TV/video production and sales and marketing. The Oilmen are entering their seventh season as the Region’s team of Northwest Indiana. Located in Whiting, Indiana, the Oilmen compete in the Midwest Collegiate League, which has aided the development of over 60 players who have gone on to be selected in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft including two players who have reached the Major League level. Additional players have found professional success through independent professional baseball clubs in the league’s eight-year history. The league has become a breeding ground for not only talented players looking to sharpen their skills and further their development, but also for college students looking to advance themselves in the sports industry. Through their first six seasons, the Oilmen have developed a reputation for bringing in quality interns and helping them in their career development. The Oilmen are seeking motivated students willing to dedicate themselves to the club’s mission to uphold the tradition of on and off the field success that the organization has created. Interns will be expected to work office hours in addition to attending all home games. The start date is flexible based on students’ college schedules, but all interns will be expected to begin in mid-May or immediately following the conclusion of their spring semester. The internship runs through the conclusion of the MCL playoffs in early August. Creativity, ingenuity, a willingness to work hard and organization are traits that have made Oilmen interns thrive in years past. Candidates can apply for a specific internship position or apply as a general intern to gain experience in all facets of the operation.
