Biography:
Cole Deardorff joins the Oilmen as a right-handed pitcher. He has played his college ball at Missouri Valley College. Deardorff played high school baseball at Kouts, and he will aim to repeat his dominance in the region when he takes the bump for the Oilmen. His favorite team is the Chicago Cubs, and his favorite player is pitcher Trevor Bauer. His favorite memory from his baseball playing days was playing the sectional championship game against Washington Township his sophomore year of high school, a game with the largest turnout he's seen at one of his contests. The pitcher will bring a four-pitch mix, reminiscent of Garrit Cole- a player he aims to mimic. Deardorff spends his summer playing competitive wiffleball, and he played volleyball in high school. Though he gets a lot of things right, purchasing a Chase Claypool Chicago Bears jersey may not be something he looks back fondly on. Deardorff fell in love with sports because of his late grandfather- a football star that played at the University of Michigan. His grandfather would drive him to camps, practices, and games while his parents worked. His grandfather tragically passed away from Covid in 2021 before he ever got to see him play college baseball, but Cole plays the game in a way that he knows his grandfather is proud of looking down on him. |
